STAND is here to help kids with everyday situations. Like keeping kids from smoking, bullying, and trying to help out other kids with troubled situations. They're very serious about staying away from smoking. They even sign a pledge that states that they're smoke free. They show that they can have a fun life without having to smoke.

Did you know cigarette smoke comtains over 4,800 chemicals? 69 of them are known to cause cancer.
90% of lung cancer deaths are caused by cigarettes.
About 8.6 MILLION people in the U.S suffer from at least one kind of sickness from cigarettes.
Smoking while pregnant leads to 20 - 30% of low birth affects.
When parents smoke around kids, kids are more likely to have asthma, more ear infections, and sudden infant death syndrome.
In the year 2004 anout 22% of highschool students were smokers.Over 8% of middle school students were smokers too.

Did you know second hand smoke has more than 250 chemicals in it? There known to be toxic and cancerous.
Second hand smoke cause about 3,000 deaths each year from lung cancer who are non - smokers.
Second hand smoke ecspecially hurts children. Kids who breathe in second hand smoke are more likely to suffer from pneumonia, bronchitis, and other lung dieases.
To protect your kids and family don't smoke in the house, have people smoke outside. You could even smoke in a closed room with a window open.
But smoking cigarettes is a very dangerous thing. Your not hurting just yourself, but everybody else around.
The younger you start smoking, the harder it is to quit. That's why STAND is here to help. They don't want srudents to start smoking. They're here to make a difference.
