National Honor Society: Programs for students and advisers in secondary schools nationwide.
The National Honor Society was formed in 1921 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Our local chapter, The Grace Gaffney chapter, was started in 1976. Since that time 166 Dollar Bay High School students have been inducted into this chapter.
These are some things we're doing this year:
- July 2005- pack beans for chicken barbecue and work at the barbeque.
- November 2005- Salvation Army can drive for food.
- May 23, 2006- Introduction Ceremony- Honors Assembly
Purpose - The Society developed the "Jr. Membership" program in order to identify talented high school students and introduce them to our organization with anticipation that they will become active members once they begin their pursuit of higher education.
