Quick Description of the events:
Practical
Data Gathering: Teams were required to gather and process data
to solve a given problem. Intermediate measurements and calculations
may be required.
Physics Lab:
Students will comptet in lab activities in the areas of
thermodynamics and/or basic
physical properties and materials.
Cell Biology: Contestants
will rotate from station to station, integrating content knowledge and
process skills in the areas of cell biology and biochemistry.
Experimental Design:
This event will determine a team's ability to design, conduct and
report the findings of an experiment actually conducted on site. Not
conducting and experiment is a violation of the spirit of the event.
Science of Fitness:
This event encompasees
physicology of
the cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary systems in health and
disease.
Write it/Do it: Technical
writing skills are an important part of and engineer's or a scientist's
abilities to communicate precisely and clearly. This even will test a
competitors's ability to effectively communicate with a calleague in
writing by having their partner construct a device from this written
description.
