Mrs. Lynn Lanala, Teacher
Mrs. Lanala has been teaching at Dollar Bay High School for nearly twenty years and A.P. Biology is probably her most difficult and rewarding class to teach.  "My goal is to have students become independent, scientific thinkers, with a love for science."  Students do an in-depth investigation and report on it during a weekly recitation period.  Twelve A.P. Investigations are also attempted during the year and in past years a few students have gone to do well in the A.P. Biology exam.

To put it in it's simplest terms, I opted to take this class so I could further my science education. Seeing as though I took A.P. Chemistry last year, it seemed only fit to take another advanced science course. Science helps you understand the world around you and maybe respect it a little more. I recommend you take this class if given the opportunity. It's a lot of work, but it pays off in the end. The labs are demanding but informative. The recitations are also a high point in the class. I plan on attending Michigan Technological University in the fall and majoring in Social Science.

I decided to take this class because when I graduate I plan on majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science.  I thought it would give me a greater understanding of science, and hopefully even help my lab report writing skills.  This class is definitely not a "slacker" class.  You do actually have to put some effort forth to do well in it.  Overall though, it's just a great class that everyone can enjoy.

I took this class because I hope to be a veterinarian.  I will be attending Grand Valley State University in the fall.  I bring an energetic outlook to the class.  They all love me, and my reports!

During my last year of high school, I wanted to take a class that would help me in college. Even though I'm going into History for my major, nearly every college requires students to take a science course. With this in mind, I chose to take A.P. Biology. I really enjoyed taking this class because it gave me a further understanding of biology, and laboratory techniques that will help in the future. The best part of the class was giving recitation reports. They were a good way to both disgust, and inform the class on a wide variety of subjects.

Hi! I am Tiffany Bond and I'm 17 years old. I am graduating from Dollar Bay High School. A.P. Biology is definitely a good class to take. You learn how to do lab reports as would be done in college. You also get a lot of practice in the laboratory. It is a lot of fun.

I took A.P. Biology because I thought it would be a good class to take since I am going into Biomedical Engineering. I thought it would give me an idea of what to expect next year. It is a fun time and it's sad to know it's coming to an end.
